This is Medicine
Last Friday,
I made a new friend,
And I’m still thinking about it.
“It’s Amanda, right?”
I asked as we parted ways.
“Yep, but it’s Brown Sugar after five!”
A big belly laugh,
Burst from deep within my soul.
She laughed along with me.
Pure joy,
Radiating from these two strangers.
This is medicine,
A cure,
For two years of pandemic isolation.
