The Biggest Heart

Have you ever met someone so kind
It feels like they are always lying to you?
Well, what if they’re not?
What if you’ve been listening for so long
To lies from people who say they’re
Just being brutally honest with you and
To lies that come from inside
Your own head?

What if most of us
Spend so much of our time
Lying to ourselves and to each other
That we don’t know the truth
When we hear it?

The next time someone calls you a badass,
Believe them.
The next time someone listens to your silly rambling stories and responds with, “Hell yeah!” and “That’s awesome!”
Believe them.
And the next time someone says you are worthy of more love than the biggest heart could give,
Believe them.

Believe them because it’s true.
